oneClickJava

Overview

oneClickJava is an easy way to set up Java Software Development Kit on Windows and Unix (future support) platforms.

It automatically sets the correct paths and can install additional packages needed to develop Java programs for a specific environment (e.g. college course).

Suggested audience:

Beginner Java programmers
Java course students
Tutors and system administrators who want to simplify Java installation process for their users.

Requirements

Before downloading make sure that you have Java Software Development Kit (compiler tools) installed on your computer. Java Runtime Environment will not suffice because it lacks the compiler tools. You can get a Java SDK from various vendors such as IBM, Sun, Blackdown and more. This program can only work with installed SDK.

The source code package includes installation script for Nullsoft Install System.

Usage

User guide included in the program contains all necessary information for.

If you wish to provide oneClickJava to your users, all you need to do is to download the source, modify the configuration file included (only two directives) and (optional) include any packages you would like oneClickJava to install. More detailed instructions will follow by the end of this week when I find some time.
